The Dying rose...

 

A dying rose is like a loved one

That you hold close to your breast

It reminds you of the love you shared

And knowing how much you have been blessed

For when this rose was blooming

From just one tiny sprout

You knew with love and nurturing

How beautiful it would turn out

 

Oh yes how beautiful is the rose 

Filled with its many thorns

This seems to be the attribute

That loved ones seem to scorn

But those thorns do serve a purpose

It teaches you to handle love with care

For when you get through the piercing thorns

Then true love will you share

 

Even a rose cannot survive

When love is not around

Silently inside it dies

As soft pedals fall to the ground

છે પ્રેમનો

સવાલ, જરા તો નજીક આવ !

ઊભી ન કર દીવાલ, જરા તો નજીક આવ !

મોટેથી કહી શકાય, નથી એવી વાત એ;

સુણવા હો દિલના હાલ, જરા તો નજીક આવ !

અંતર હંમેશા પ્રેમમાં અંતરાય થાય છે,

રાખીને એ ખયાલ, જરા તો નજીક આવ !

ટાઢક વળે છે દિલને મહોબતની આગથી;

જોવાને એ કમાલ, જરા તો નજીક આવ !

જાવું છે મારે દૂર ને ઝાઝો સમય નથી,

છોડીને સૌ ધમાલ, જરા તો નજીક આવ !

વાગી રહી છે મોતની શરણાઇઓ અમર,

જોવા જીવનનો તાલ, જરા

દરીયો નીકળ્યો

માછલી સાથે જ દરીયો નીકળ્યો,

લ્યો ઋણાનુબંધ પાછો નીકળ્યો.

 

હુંજ મારા ભાર થી થાકી ગયો,

હું હતો એ 'હું' જ ખોટો નીકળ્યો.

 

ચાંદની સમજી અમે મુઠ્ઠી ભરી,

મૂઠ ખોલી ત્યાંજ તડકો નીકળ્યો.

 

સાંજ પડતાંયે ફર્યુ ના એટલે,

શોધવા પંખીને માળો નીકળ્યો.

 

આશરો કેવળ નદીને જ હતો,

એક સાગર એય ખારો નીકળ્યો.

 

આગીયાઓ ઉજળા છેકે પછી-,

વેશ બદલી સૂર્જ ઊડતો નીકળ્યો.

 

થોભવાનો થાક વસમો હોય છે,

માર્ગ સમજ્યો એ ઉતારો નીકળ્યો

દીકરી

દીકરીને અગ્નિદાહ આપ્યો તે પહેલા ઈશ્વરને

બે હાથ જોડીને કહ્યું હતું સાસરે વળાવતો હોઉં

એવી જ રીતે મારી દીકરીને વિદાય કરું છું,

ધ્યાન રાખીશને એનું?

અને પછી મારામાં અગ્નિદાહ દેવાની તાકત આવી,

લાગ્યું કે ઈશ્વરે વેવાઈપણું સ્વીકારી લીધું…!

એને અગ્નિદાહ આપીને પાછો ફર્યો ત્યારે પત્નીએ

આંગણામાં પાણી મૂક્યું હતું…

નાહી નાખવાનું હવે દીકરીનાં નામનું…!

પત્નીની વારેવારે ભરાઈ આવતી આંખો

એક નિસાસો નંખાય જાય છે…ઈશ્વર, દીકરી સોંપતા પહેલાં

તારા વિશે તપાસ કરાવવાની જરુર હતી,

કન્યાપક્ષના રિવાજો ને તારે માન આપવું જોઈએ,

દસ દિવસ થઈ ગયાં…અને અમારે ત્યાં પગફેરાનો રિવાજ..

મિત્રતા

જીવનમાં મિત્ર ના હોત તો !

આ જીવનને જીવન કેમ કહેવું?

મિત્રતા એક એવો દિપ છે કે જેમાં,

બંને એ એકસાથે બળવું જ પડે.

મિત્રતા એક એવો ધોધ કે જેમાં,

પડ્યાં પછી પણ વહેતાં રહેવું પડે.

મિત્રતા એક ખુલ્લું રણ કે જેમાં,

આસ પાસ બધું જ દ્રશ્યમાન છે.

મિત્રતા એક મોટું ઝરણું કે જેમાં,

વહેતાં વહેતાં જીવન જીવી જવાય.

મિત્રતા એક એવો સંબંધ કે જે,

જીવનનો ધબકાર અને શ્વાસ છે.

એટલે જ મિત્રોથી જીવું છું હું કે જે,

મારા માટે જીવાનો આધાર અને પ્રાણ છે....

 

 

 

ન હોઉં તારી સાથે તો ત્યારે મને યાદ કરજે,

ભૂલો તો ઘણી કરી છે, પણ મને માફ કરજે,

દોસ્તી ના દાખલા માંથી નારાજગી ને બાદ કરજે,

રાહ જોઇશ ORKUT માં તમારી ,

આવીને ત્યાં મારી ફરીયાદ કરજે,

જેવો છુ એવો ન હતો પહેલા ,

એ સમજાય ત્યારે મને સાદ કરજે,

દુનિયામાં કેટલીયે દોસ્તી તૂટે છે અને તૂટતી રહેવાની,

પણ મિત્રતા ની મિસાલમાં તો આપણી દોસ્તી નું જ નામ કરજે,

જ્યારે પણ એકાંત માં યાદ મારી આવે ,

બસ એક પ્યારીસી SMILE કરજે......

કબર ક્યાં રાખીછે

પ્રેમની એમણે કદર ક્યાં રાખી છે ?

દિલની એમણે ખબર ક્યાં રાખી છે ?

મે કહ્યું મરી જઇશ તારા પ્રેમમાં,

એમણે પૂછયું કબર ક્યાં રાખીછે ...

 

“તમે પૂછશો નહી કે અમને કેમ છે,

અમે સારા છીએ એ તમારો વહેમ છે,

બરબાદ તો થઈ ગયા હતા તમારા પ્રેમમા,

પણ થોડો અમારા પર ખુદાનો રહેમ છે.”

ઘણું છે

નથી મને કંઈ ભગવાનને મળવાની ઝંખના,
એમની એક ઝાંખી મળે તો પણ ઘણું છે.

નથી મને રાજમહેલમાં રહેવાની ઝંખના,
રહેવા માટે એક ઝૂંપડી મળે તો પણ ઘણું છે.

નથી મને બત્રીસ ભાતના ભોજનની ઝંખના,
પેટ ભરવા બટકું રોટલો મળે તો પણ ઘણું છે.

નથી મને દેશ-વિદેશ ફરવાની જવાની ઝંખના,
મારા ગામમાં ઇજ્જત સચવાઈ રહે તો પણ ઘણું છે.

નથી મને ચાંદ પર જવાની ઝંખના,
ધરતી પર સારી જિંદગી મળે તો પણ ઘણું છે.

નથી મને દુનિયામાં અમર રહેવાની ઝંખના,
થોડી ટૂંકી પણ સારી જિંદગી મળે તો પણ ઘણું છે.

નથી મને કોઈ સ્વપ્ન પરીની ઝંખના,
કોઈ નાજુક નમણી નાર મળે તો પણ ઘણું છે.

નથી રજનિ ને ચંદનના લાકડામાં સળગવાની ઝંખના,
સૂકા બાવળના થોડા લાકડા મળે તો પણ ઘણું છે.
